Chloe's Mullet

As promised I am finally getting to the mullet post. I needed to get an after picture when Chloe's hair was cute.

So my parents were in town and we stayed up late on Mon. night playing games and the kids got to stay up late too. Well, around 10:30 we all went to bed. Sometime after that Chloe sneaked out of her room and cut off her hair. A lot. She has a bald spot. She has a ton of hair and she cut off more hair than I have! I unfortunately have very fine hair. So Tues. morning comes around and I tell Chloe to take a quick bath because it's picture day, after-all, and she needed to be clean. I got her out of the bath to do her hair and discovered it was gone. Well, the top was gone. I almost cried.

So, what do you do when you daughter cuts off all her hair and you discover it mere minutes before she has to go to school for picture day? Well, you try not to cry, and of course text all your close friends and family so they can laugh with you(or at you). My wonderful Mother looked at it to see if she could fix it, and well, she couldn't.

On the advice of my Sister-in-law Maren, I sent her to school. This is at least the 4th time Chloe has done this and Maren thought if she was embarrassed enough and if I didn't buy her school picture she would stop. Well, I trust Maren. Her kids are the best, most amazing teenagers I've ever known so I know she is doing something right! So, I stuck a headband with a big bow strategically placed in Chloe's hair and sent her off to school with a note asking her teacher to not have her picture taken.

Well, Maren's infinite wisdom failed in this case. But then, Chloe really is something else. I picked her up from school and she started crying because her hair looks so beautiful and its really not fair that I won't buy a school picture for her. I explained that no its not beautiful, it looks bad. Really, really bad. We get home and she stalked off to the bathroom. When she came out she said, "Mommy is looks completely normal!" Ya, maybe normal for the days when mullets were 'in'. Ug.

That Sat. I got her hair cut. I was thinking I might have to do a cute pixie cut, but it was only really short on top so we settled for a nice A line to blend the shorter pieces in the back and bangs. The bangs are short, and there are still several short pieces on top but with lots of hair spray and strategic combing we'll get by as we wait for it to grow back. I guess she will be having bangs for awhile!

Before (I really wish this picture did justice to the butcher job, it just doesn't.)
After (in the 3rd picture you can really see the bald spot. We'll just pretend that he bangs are swoopy bangs that are supposed to look like that.)

I gotta say I can't tell! Her bangs look a bit short, but in a purposeful cute short way. I am thinking instead of a college fund you should just start a beauty school fund, girl already knows what she wants to do in her life hahaha.
