Ok this is way late his birthday was a month ago but I have so not been on top of things. I have been sick for a week and a half and I worry that I am getting worse not better. I have also missed Chloe's eye appointment for the second time so that just shows where my brain is.He was definitely a surprise but very much wanted and very much loved.
He had a rough start. He spent a week in the NICU with pneumonia. We had been down this road before with Elijah, but for some reason the second time was even harder. Maybe because I knew more what to expect and how it would affect Liam's overall health. He now has asthma, like Elijah. He amazed the doctors and was able to come home after 9 days. They told me most babies with pneumonia are in the hospital for at least 2 full weeks. He is such a strong little guy.
From the begining Liam wanted to move. He started crawling around 4 months and hasn't sat still since. All of his crawling and moving was used to find the best way to get to the Mommy.
Being the youngest he needed to find a way to get the attention and he did that with his amazing scream. It makes my skin crawl, but it had the desired result. We would all come running and fix whatever was wrong in order to make the scream stop! I called him my little bird because it was so high pitched and so loud it reminded me of the bird, Billy bird, I had growing up. When he was 6 weeks old he got real sick again and lost his voice. I hated seeing my poor boy sick, but not having a voice was a nice rest for my ears.
We were able to go to Az in October which I am very grateful for. It was the last time we saw my brother Jeff. This picture was taken with Jeff and Liam. He was a great, thoughtful, kind brother and uncle and I am sad that Liam will never know him.
Liam is loved by his whole family, a little too much sometimes. Chloe thinks he is her baby and she spends many hours carrying him around the house. I have yelled, "he is not your baby, he is mine!" More times than I can count.
Sometimes things in life happen on a timeframe that is not ours. We may not know why little Liam came into our family when he did but we are certainly glad he is here. His smile can melt anyone's heart. We love you little guy!
